Chicken math

Since buying a small home on a 1/4 acre I have fought the urge to get chickens (for a year and half). A couple of months ago I decided that getting 4-6 would be nice. I ordered an incubator and hatching eggs and started designing a coop/run. Quickly realized I was kidding myself, so started redesigning for more room.
I have four 2 week old chicks, seven 1 week old chicks, and 14 eggs in the incubator, making 11 chicks and up to 14 potentials.
You addict you:gig

Im feeling the same I want more and more. Im starting to convince my partner to build a big coop and we can catch the rain off the coop too for our tanks. We are on tank water only. So watch this space lol.

Last time I counted we had 81 chickens, 10 mallard derived ducks, 7 Muscovy ducks, and 3 turkeys. I think my dad started off our first flock with 25 chickens 16 years ago, one of them made it to 11 years old.

81!!!! 11 years is amazing!
