How many chickens will my yard hold?

I have leghorns that love to fly up onto things. Also have buff orpingtons that try to fly up on things but they have gotten quite beefy and find it difficult lol Clipping wings definitely helps!!!

Yes, it does depend on the breed and chicken. I have 3 BRs and they dont fly at all. My 2 RIRs are a little better flyers but noy by much

Clipping one wing works pretty well as long as they can't climb on something and jump over the fence. We just have a chain link around our yard with honeysuckle growing on it. Although we keep all the birds wings clipped, we still have one barred rock that just loves to climb and she goes over the fence all the time. None of our other 14 chickens even attempt to go over so it will also depend on their personalities. The couple of times we couldn't find her and thought she was a goner, she showed back up the next morning.

So far so good. We bought 6 RIR laying hens and they've already laid 4 eggs, the kids think that's great. We got them Friday morning and they are all 20 weeks old. They are beautiful birds and were raised by a family we know, they appear very healthy and seem to be adjusting to their new home great. We're rookies so here's a ? for everyone:

What does it mean when one of them gets on the laying box area in the coop and just throws a big fit--bock, bock, bocking very loud? She didn't lay an egg but acted like she did something!: Then she came out of the coop strutting around like she was so proud.

The kids think it's so funny.

That's an egg song. Sometimes they just do it for practice I think. Lol. Some don't make any noise at all while others cackle for an eternity.

Just wondering if you all could tell me how many chickens you think our coop/run can comfortable hold.
My coop w/ nest boxes & roosts is 12x12. I have an attached fully caged area that is also 12x12. Then we have a fenced yard that is approximately (it's triangle shaped) 60x60x40.
