How many chicks should I put in a 4x4 x4 dog house that I'm going to make into a coop

4 standard, maybe 6 bantam. That is if you use the 4 sf/bird rule and figure on 4' of roost. Even 4 is pushing it because you will lose floor and roost space to feeders and waterers and nest boxes. But with an outside run, 4 should be ok.

Of course, I was talking about adult chickens. If you are only talking about chicks in a brooder coop, then 16-32, depending on how long you were going to leave them in there.
