Hey Everyone!
I wanted to ask if anyone uses Lime in their chicken runs/coops? We recently obtained 6 turkeys (I know you aren't supposed to house them together, but these are babies still and our temperatures dropped!), and I wanted to make sure the run is kept as clean as possible. We bought a bag of this stuff....(Dolomitic Lime)
If you scratch this into the surface of the chicken run and mix it around, will it help kill anything? Or would it be better to use Diatomaceous Earth? I may have to get a truckload of sand to add to the run as well...the chickens have seemed to scratch and dig down so much that the cement holding the 4x4 posts are half exposed.
