holy coldness!!! -40!! Do you have a heat lamp in their coop?

Yes I do but I only use it when It drops below -20. My coop is usually 20 warmer than outside, it is very well insulated and the -40 is wind chill , my chickens are not in the weather in the winter I plastic off a portion of their run with a portable hoop coop it is like a little green house when the sun is shining.

20/28 plus I found a secret laying spot with 15 frozen eggs ( little buggers) I cooked them up and fed them back to my chickens.

5/10. I thought it was only going to be 2 since that was all they had laid as of about 2:30. I went back out about 5:00 to lock them up foor the night and found 3 more in the same nest box, including a Marans egg...

18...they didn't like the snow one bit today. Good thing it melted by 3pm. ...so much for the coops/run I spent all day Sunday cleaning. Bummer.
