5/5! We're on a roll. Except I watched as one egg was eaten by a dirty cannibal hen. So I did a major reno on the coop. Posted about it in coop design!

You can also add a golf ball to your nests to help them stop pecking the eggs and eating them.

Only 5 eggs on Monday & one of my 3 year old hens died. I'm guessing she couldn't handle the heat. It was oppressive yesterday.

You must have sent the heat toward us, it's going to be 90s here today. Not sure if my chicken will like that.

That's exactly what I told her. We had a long talk about consequences and some of the choices she's been making lately. Eggs are not food for chickens. I could tell by the way she ruffled her feathers that she had taken it to heart.

Good for you for taking a firm hand with her. But, in all fairness, maybe she got so excited over laying an egg she became confused.
