Ok I am new to my chickens laying. What does it mean when someone has 3 numbers like the post above me?

First # the count of eggs you got for the day; 2nd # are the number of your active layers; 3rd # are your total number of chicken (wether their future/potential layers, on molt or being broody)

8 yesterday, but no one else died from the heat! I have been adding frozen water bottles to their waterers and an oscillating fan with a container of ice & water in front of it inside the "barn coop" with the least air flow.

Thank you for breaking it down. I felt stupid asking, but being my first time with chickens I really had no idea.

Quite ok & your welcome! Few months ago I also asked someone what it meant, being this is my first year of raising "anything" (I grew up in big city).

I'll have to remember these tricks if it becomes too hot for the girls. It's not been as bad here in the Blue Ridge Mtns (2000 feet, or so) as it's been for some others, so they've been fine staying in the shade of the Cypress trees. But, that doesn't mean it can't get that hot.

Thanks for the tips.
