5 eggs from the free range chickens, I was gone yesterday and the crows got all of the free range chicken eggs but today I was on guard and got most of their eggs I believe

Looks like I will be setting aside a few of these young ladys for cleaning and checking for egg producing qualities so I can barter them for some chicken feed

Temp 78F degrees with light winds but when the snow melts of the surrounding mountains the temps will be going way up

17 eggs today, including 2 soft shelled eggs dropped from the roost. I've had oyster shell out, but they haven't been eating it. I dumped it out & replaced it with fresh oyster shell. Sunday it was 87 degrees F! I used the time to clean out the big coop and replace the shavings with clean shavings. I've been trying the outside brooder in the big coop & I must say I am very impressed so far. The chicks (4 of them, 3 male & 1 female) spent the 1st 2 or 3 weeks inside my house in an aquarium brooder. Then I read the article about brooding outside & I set it up & moved them out! It's been like 1 or 2 weeks and they are already roosting (1 even on the same bar as the older girls!). I'm glad I came across that article when I did.

That is pretty good info, I had plans that once my Barred pullets feather out
as the 3 EE I picked up already are. I have the pool well wired so nothing can get in or out
I intend to move pool and all into my main coop so the big girls can adjust to
the new group.

Finally one of my freeloading pullets laid her first egg today. So 1/2. I hope the other girl will start laying soon as well.

6 of 6 two days in a row... can't expect that too often but it was super nice. Moved my chicks to the coop/run on Tuesday, they are adjusting well, but it puts me up to 12 in the coop for a while 6 laying 6 5 weeks (ish). 2 will be re-homed this weekend.
