How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

VERY nice! That's up from the other day again, isn't it?

I'm s-l-o-w-l-y closing the gap...

Today: 15 chicken eggs
1 guinea egg still at 3pm

But strangely the girls have been laying late morning - late afternoon.
I closed the garage door for two nights now because of the drop in temps with such a wind! I totally forgot to open it today until after dinner.
All the laying was already done, in the dark. Just one straggler, later afternoon. Almost like a reset.

Yeh mine have been laying later in the day as well.
Days are getting long!!

The falling is one of the reasons my brother gave in and took her to the hospital
thankfully St Pete's has been fabulous to her, I have a harder time of it I guess
because I had not prepared myself for the changes of a vibrant active Mom
to one that can't stand or walk alone and looks like my Grandma did so
many years ago.
My Mom had big slow down about 2 years ago. She had a lot of trouble with her lungs. That really slowed her down, she was no longer able to get around nearly as well as she had in the past. Her days of going shopping for hours at a time ended. If she went with friends or family she would have to sit while they shopped. When we went out to an event that required walking she was extremely slow, she even agreed to use a wheelchair to go through the airport earlier this year (that's huge for her). But I agree, seeing that sudden change in her was quite a shock! The most shocking thing this time was the way she looks, but that is due to the swelling from being on Prednisone.
I wasn't ready to see my Mom looking like my Grandma near the end of her life either.

Giving my girls one part morning and one part day in the dark (accidently) seemed to be strangely beneficial here.
They're all done earlier today again.
(My coop is a converted garage. I had to pull the car door down due to weather. I forgot that I had put the door down.

They're in darkness except for a nightlight)
