How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I got 2 to 4 to 7 eggs a day

10 on Thursday but I set one down to do waters and it disappeared so I'm thinking one of our dogs stole it. Lol.

Not sure how many are actually laying, most aren't, but they're getting there. We have 8 large fowl girls that are molting right now and three bantams. The eggs from yesterday included a first speckled Sussex egg, a second cuckoo Marans egg, an egg from one of our mixes after she had stopped for two-three weeks, some of our laying hens, and was hoping for a cream legbar when she went in the nest but she didn't lay. She had layed 7-10 about every other day but that was also 2-3 weeks ago. She's acting fine I just worry about her.

Wednesday we also got our first perfect egg from one of our chocolate English Orpingtons.

We have been lucky with the older girls going through their first big molt to get 3-4 eggs a day with a maximum of six so ten was quite spectacular.

Funny to see the girls producing eggs again as the days are cooling off but the shells are a bit soft and even crack when touched

I have 5 girls. One of them is 8 months and laying. The others are 2 years old and I haven't nailed down which ones are laying (three of them are molting).

So it generally goes 3 one day, 2 the next, 3 the next. Seems like they're probably all laying.

3!! The mystery color from Wednesday is actually another golden comet, it's lighter brown with white speckles. All the other eggs are GC but darker with no speckles so I automatically thought it was a new girl laying. All 4 GC officially laying & marked now

We've had some like that. My husband tends to crush them when he collects eggs for me whenever I'm out of town. I'm glad to see that your temps are cooling off. How many hens do you have now?
