5 chickens of which 1 isn't laying anymore. 3-4 eggs a day lately.

I got one little egg yesterday!!! Finally! The first one from my 5 pullets who are 23 weeks old today. I've been expecting one from the golden comet since 18 weeks, and the black australorp for a while, too, since her comb is very red. It's been about a year since I got my last egg from the 6 year old hen.

33F at 5am. Ice on windshield this morning. Chickens hanging out under coop to avoid breeze. Could get frost again tonight.
One broken under roost.

13 eggs today. I think I need more sleep. Forgot to let the chickens out in the big barn this morning. I let everyone else out though. Didn't even realize what I hadn't done until I got home this evening and wondered why the chickens from that coop had all gone to bed so early. Well, it was because all of their exit doors were still closed and locked. Oh, well, they survived. They sure were thirsty though!
