How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I'm not sure on what to do but I think I saw something about a warm water bath. look it up. Good luck.

Thanks tjordan, her bottom is slightly swollen and not eating much, I took her inside the house for few minutes when I got home @530pm, she ate some bread and had water I put her back in the coop turned on the emergency heater since its dropping to 0*F high of 9* just to keep the temp 10* higher and her comfy. I normally don't turn the heat until -10 to -20.

Quote: It was the rooster with the frozen comb that I was asking about..(I didn't realize you had one with wry neck)
I'm really glad that he made it through that and that he's doing a lot better! That's awesome!!

I had a Silkie X develop wry neck. I could keep it under control with the one type of poultry vitamins that I had...but as soon as he was with the rest he would start to relapse with the neck. I did the same as you.
I consider his siblings are on probation. I suspect it will not be the last I see of it in that line. I hope I'm wrong..lol.

That's too bad. I think mine had an inner ear infection that I couldn't get rid of. Vitamins did nothing to help his situation, but then none of the ear infection treatments I tried didn't work either. I couldn't get my hands on the right type of antibiotics. It was sad, he was, of course. my favorite bird. I was able to hatch out a few of his eggs, hoping for a cockerel or two. I think I got 1 cockerel & 3 pullets, but hey, at least I got 1. It isn't nearly as pretty as he was. Then last weekend the local Buchheit's had cockerels on sale of TEN CENTS! So I picked up 3 that look like EE's (which is what he was). I figure this way I can introduce new blood and have some choices. Right now I think I am going to keep the one that has dark legs, the other 2 have yellow legs. I din't even think to look at their legs when I bought them. I was looking for the puffy cheeks!

As for the rooster that had such a bad case of frost bite, this morning I noticed that he has lost about half of his points on his comb. I suspect that the rest will fall off in another day or 2. I have read that frost bite can effect virility, but I'm not sure how exactly.
Do they mean because when he is in pain he's "not interested" or do they mean in a more long lasting way? I need to do some research and find out, because he was going to be the rooster I used for my project breed. I may have to rethink that if he is going to be incapacitated.
