How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Fake eggs may discourage them (golf balls work,something they can peck but not break), removing eggs as quickly as possible, making sure nesting boxes aren't at eye level when they come in the coop (at least 12 inch off the ground but under the roosting bars), or putting up curtains to add privacy and hide any waiting eggs.

I've never had a problem with this until now. Thxs for the suggestions I'll give them a try

Temp 96F degrees with a light breeze all day and into the evening

One of my hens that is sitting on a nest for the first time is missing a hole lot of feathers on her back and some very light scratches were discovered on her back upon closer invitation

Got another soft egg but harder than yesterday and in the nesting box! Most definitely a Buff Orpington layer.
We also have a new layer-our 4th black australorp-caught in the action and officially marked a layer!
We've got 10 eggs so far, waiting for 2 EE to lay if they do today...
