Can't wait for mine to start laying!

It seems like forever, but it will happen. I was convinced my chickens were broken! Well i have a 9 month old just may be! Lol.
Looking forward to seeing your first egg

Oh boy, definitely more than!!! Wanted 9. Hatched out 2 out of 8 eggs. Given 8 chicks. Bought 18 eggs via auction on BYC. Received 20 eggs. Those are all in the incubator. All showing progress so far. Hmm... if even half Hatch out, that takes me to TWENTY BIRDS! Granted, I have current cockerel that I can't keep (5). Hmm... maybe I'll still be around the 9-10 mark if these eggs hatch. WHICH means, I can always add "just a COUPLE" of more...

9 chicken eggs





Temps, moderate winds all day but I still did not need to put a jacket on low 60's . I spent most of the dad cleaning out the chicken coops I know you wont believe this but I am noticing that the girls are pecking out the gold flakes out of the sand I put on the floor for them to scratch around in and I noticed this when I was hosing the poo out of the coops so I guess they like the shiny lol .

Hmm. I've never had as many as I want. Lol. Chicken math is tough. My DW says I have OCD. Obsessive chicken disorder.

That's a true statement! I decided on 6, was going to get six and walked out with 10 just in case ya know

Then sold 4 that I didn't care for and bought a cockerel. So now I have 7 and thinking about a odd ball coop to add. Not that I need eggs since I have 5 dozen in my fridge.
