I live north west of Orlando and Irma went right over us It was only a cat 1 at best but a Tornado or a really bad thunderstorm came over my place and took out 12 100 foot tall oaks and trashed my whole area. and we were a week with out electric.

I have "former" family in Merritt Island & Cocoa Beach. We haven't spoken for years, but am hoping they and they area made it through with no problems.

I have experience with tornadoes. Happy to know you weren't blown away. Those things are frightening. No warning, no time to get away.

I've lived in Missouri most of m live. Part of Tornado alley, so I know what you mean.

11/12 today. We got an amazing plum purple egg from one of the pullets today, a color we have never seen and I'm not sure which bird laid it. May be the last time for that many eggs for a while as molting has commenced big time with several of the girls.

Do you have a picture of this amazing plum purple egg? I would love to see it!I have seen someone else on some thread on BYC post a picture of a pale purple/grey colored egg that I had never seen before.


Went to the Billy Joel concert last night. He was amazing!! This evening I collected 20 eggs, (yesterdays & todays combined). Our temps had been pretty low in the morning and night (lows around 48 with highs in the mid 70's) but now we are back up to highs around 97
