Never expected the eggs buried down in nesting materials, since most of my hens pile them in a crater like manner until this new layers Black Copper Marans buries them when it’s frigid, what a great instinct.

I know right? They’re kind of my family with egg benefits, Sold 10 dozens of eggs this week.

23 Eggs and a sunny gorgeous day on upper 20s to low 30s. It felt like Hawaii after the Polar vortex week LOL

24 out of 24 laid last night. They should keep production around there now since they all started laying. They have another year and a half before the cull.

Every two years. I am going to start staggering by buying chicks every year.

I have 8 new high still one in the nest may go to 9 or 10
silky still one other three brooding my 3 eggs
So at 9:30 had another but just one 9 main 0 from silky

I got my first egg today after 37.5 weeks of waiting from one of my english lavender orpingtons!!! Her 3 lavender sisters and one lavender cuckoo sister have yet to lay...sigh. I figured either my two cinnamon queens or 6 speckled Sussex, all 19.5 weeks, would beat the lavenders but they squeaked it out in the end! The lavenders are beautiful but very slow to lay.
