How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Are you trying anything to address the egg eating? Do you think it’s on purpose? I read here that it’s almost impossible to break an egg eating habit.
I am trying to collect the eggs frequently throughout the day so that they aren't sitting there. I don't know if they are eating them after they get cracked or something or if a hen is purposely cracking them to eat. :idunno So far I have no idea who the culprit(s) is.

When I figure out where I stored my trail camera I will set it up and spy on them to see if I can figure out who it is.

20 eggs today!!

Spent most of the day out in the run attaching a new hardware cloth skirt around the dirt floor coop. I have half of it done and covered by dirt and rocks. I have another section laid out but I ran out of daylight. Plus I need to go back and buy some more.
I did find some trails under ground. They look like they are mouse or snake size in diameter. I did not find any evidence of critters and no bedding material.
I had decided to add the skirt because I have been seeing evidence of tunneling/burrowing. But I had thought mole or vole based on the above ground evidence. Well, hopefully, whatever it is won't be able to get in the coop/run structure after I get finished!

No eggs but all on meds now for snotty noses would have to compost them
I’m just finishing mine on Denegard for the same thing... 2 leghorns had snotty noses during the health check a few days ago. And I heard a few sneezes as well. No sneezes since but I have to check the leghorn nares today to see if that’s cleared up.

13 eggs yesterday. Both EEs and all 4 leghorns laid. I’m going to try to get some time this weekend to go thru the camera playback to see if there’s one brown layer that’s not consistently laying. In case I missed something on the health checks or something new popped.

Chickens are a lot of work - lol! Between predator control (Karen’s work), playing detective, or trying to makes thing easier/better (I’m working on adding a compost bin inside the secure area to
move toward the sitters only having to come over once a day). I also just started trying to sprout seeds!

Good thing we love the little buggers! Lol!

These are mine from yesterday! My new blue egg :love
