How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

9 over 2 days with one new layer. Missed yesterday with the girls. They were happy today though!

Five seems to be our magic number lately (hope I don't jinx it by saying so!) Past three days it's continued to be be five eggs - one blue each day from Martha, at least one green daily from the Egger girls Edna and Elsie (both laid yesterday) and the rest brown, usually not sure who laid those but today one of Jill the Delaware's white feathers was stuck to her medium-brown egg (so, good job, Jill!)

I keep reminding myself, they're still pullets so next winter probably won't be so productive...but I love seeing all those pretty eggs collecting on the kitchen counter! Over 4 dozen now, just in time for holiday baking & family coming to stay for Christmas!

3…I found a banded egg early this morning which made me expect to see a thin-shelled egg later today. When I got home from a half-day at work, I had a normal egg and a thin-shelled one, but for the first time, somebody pecked at the thin-shelled one and ate it.

There were 5 nice eggs waiting for me this morning. One of the girls seemed to be hanging close to the nest box, so I might get a sixth egg today if I'm lucky.

2 again this morning. I’ve been singing “Eight Days a Week” to Août, who is now 8 for 8!

Edit: If only she’d lay in the nest box and not in the corner of the coop...

Awwww how cute though that she has her chosen spot. My Little Grey started laying her eggs on my straw pile, little blue eggs I have to remember to check for her egg before hauling straw down for cleaning stalls

9 eggs today, and Larry keeps going to a nest box and squawking up a storm so maybe she will start laying eggs again.

Before her moult she was laying brittle shelled eggs. Making such a mess in the nest boxes. I might pop some calcium into her a few times a week to see if I can get her calcium levels up.

Gosh I wonder who all is laying eggs now?! Not being home now I don’t get to see who is laying what unless I catch them at it

So cute! I’d like to have a blue egg layer someday! That’s one good thing about Août laying in the corner, I at least can tell hers apart from Juillet’s, my other Cuckoo Marans. Juillet’s eggs (like her body ) are much more round than Août’s, so I’m finally learning to tell them apart even after I put them in the carton now
