How many eggs is unhealthy?

My ND told me "eggs are your food", so I eat 2 a day for breakfast, and up to 4-6 more if I make egg-salad, which I might do 2 x's a month.

In France it is very common for a woman to eat 6 eggs for breakfast at a certain time of the month.

They eat a lot of eggs over there, and have less heart disease than we do.

Eggs are one of nature's perfect foods such as avocados and bananas. I eat as many as I want. Some of the nutrients in eggs can't be found anywhere else.
 
Cholesterol is more genetic than what you're eating. If you are predisposed to high cholesterol or have hypothyroidism, you will have higher cholesterol readings, no matter what you eat or do not eat. My DH eats 4 eggs every single morning, sometimes with sausage, cooked in real butter. He has perfect cholesterol. Myself, who has a thyroid malfunction, had perfect cholesterol till the thyroid went wacko. I did not want to take cholesterol meds, so my doc let me try for six months to get it down by diet. I was perfect, oatmeal, tuna, etc. It went down TWO measly points. I had to go on medication. I do not have a high fat diet and do not eat eggs every day. Good, REAL food, home-grown, IMO, will not hurt anyone.
 
I had read somewhere that farm fresh eggs had half the cholesterol and more vitamins than store bought eggs. My son doesnt eat much because of medication but he cold eat eggs every day and the Dr said eggs are a perfect protein and not to worry about them.

High cholesterol may run in your family. The foods you eat may also cause high cholesterol. Causes include:

What you eat. Eating too much saturated fat can cause high cholesterol. You will find this unhealthy fat in foods that come from animals. Beef, pork, veal, milk, eggs, butter, and cheese contain saturated fat. Packaged foods that contain coconut oil, palm oil, or cocoa butter may have a lot of saturated fat. You will also find saturated fat in stick margarine, vegetable shortening, and most cookies, crackers, chips, and other snacks.
Your weight. Being overweight may increase triglycerides and decrease HDL.
Your activity level. Lack of physical activity, which may increase LDL and decrease HDL.
Your age and gender. After you reach age 20, your cholesterol levels naturally begin to rise. In men, cholesterol levels generally level off after age 50. In women, cholesterol levels stay fairly low until menopause, after which they rise to about the same level as in men.
Your overall health. Having certain diseases, such as diabetes or hypothyroidism, may cause high cholesterol.
Your family history. If family members have high cholesterol, you may also.
Cigarette smoking. Smoking can lower your good cholesterol.
In rare cases, high cholesterol is caused by an inherited problem called a lipid disorder that changes the way the body handles cholesterol. People with lipid disorders may have total cholesterol levels well over 250 milligrams per deciliter. Certain types of inherited lipid disorders may be more difficult to treat.

If you must take a statin drug to slow production of cholesterol, you need to supplement with CoEnzyme Q10. When the liver produces cholesterol, it also produces CoQ10 and when you stop it....

You can't get sufficient CoQ10 from your diet, as we were designed to produce it in the liver. So please supplement with CoQ10, and not the cheapest you can find, get a good one, preferably 100mg, and oil-based. It is critical to heart function and you won't have symptoms of depletion until it is too late.

I have yet to meet an MD who was taught this in med school....or by a pharma rep. I almost made a poor doc cry when I showed her the references. She worked with nursing home patients. She was devastated to learn that some of the drugs she thought protected their hearts would ultimately lead to congestive heart failure.

And such a simple solution, just add a supplement to correct the imbalance.

My grandmother would say", if eggs were gonna kill me I should be dead already", she passed at 98, so I guess I should start worrying about the number of eggs I eat.
 
my grandfather used to fry the eggs in lard as Im sure many people did. These days its not the eggs or the lard its everything else that people 50-100 years ago didnt eat.
