HIGHLY UNLIKELY... CASES OF SUCESSFUL NATURAL INCUBATION IN QUAIL IS RARE AT BEST

so how do they survive in the wild then?

Captive quail have lost that ability to incubate their own eggs. They start from a collected egg, are put in an incubator, hatch to a big ol' human standing over them, food and water is provided in plastic bowls, etc... they just don't have those natural instincts anymore like the wild quail.

2 HARD AND FAST RULES TO QUAIL

#1 NEVER COMPARE NEW WORLD SPECES TO OLD WORLD SPECES= THE ANSWERS FOR EACH ARE USUALLY WRONG WHEN APPLIED TO THE OTHER
#2 NEVER COMPARE WILD TO CAPTIVE

EITHER THAT OR WHEN CAPTIVE THEY SIMPLY DONT WANNA PLAY THE GAME???

CASE IN POINT, MANY RESTOCKING PROGRAMS (ALLBEIT THE SUCCESS RATES ABSOLUTE SUCK, >2%) ARE PRODUCING A SUCESSFUL REGENERATING BIRDS. SO CAPTIVE DO KNOW HOW TO BROOD, BUT MORE LIKELY WONT IN CAPTIVITY
