That's very interesting...See me do an impression of a willow ptarmigan:
Oh... In a perfect world?Only in the freezer. I do however like muscovies in more ways than one. I will probably get one or two in a perfect world.

What do you mean?Bottom line getting at is pigeon breeds of species cleaner than any other bird had. Especially if let bath when warm or sunny above freezing outside to get old feather etc dust off n keep healthy feeding seeds n grains giving lil acv in water n fresh daily and keep cage as dry draft free n clean.
So doves and pigeons are very clean, even when confined?Kept in same conditions as any other bird besides waterfowl they are extremely clean (Because waterfowl messiest anyway confined), more so than any other dove species even seen personally or had.
A good way to tempt me in getting a homing pigeon:Yes, depending on some minimal care requirements, a box on side type setup may work fine with inch hardware cloth screen on front for air, scraping with hoe out daily and rinsing water container daily giving fresh water that cannot hopefully get poop in. Feed just what they'll eat till full after cleaning each day unless they're breeding. If too dusty for you let them bath weekly. Too much corn peas n pelleted feed may make poops wetter n messier n feathers n poop dustier. Millet especially white presso or pearl millet good corn alternative.
Same frequency smaller quantities than chickens; Maybe about the same frequency and same size as quail. To start things off, I don't know how often they poop compared to chickens and quails since I've never had doves. Anyone have any answers?
