How much would you pay for a dog?

I read it to be that the lady that bred them has the broken wrist...not the pup. I could be wrong though.

LOL isnt that funny we both read the same words and come to 2 different conclusions.. I was thinking the dog broke the wrist and is not not suitable for her "breeding program"

Yes, the breeder broke her wrist, not the dog. I wasn't very clear. oops.

I have checked petfinder. Lots of pit mixes, local shelter ads...

There are some classified ads, and craigslist.
I just always wonder when an ad says "great dog, trained good w/ kids" etc... why are they getting rid of it?

For a pure bred dog, depending on the quality of the particular animal and its bloodline, I would pay up to 500-600. Generally, I do not care about the animal being show quality, so for a pet, I would not be likely to pay more than 300.
For a mixed breed dog (like a golden doodle, which is just a cute name someone made up for a mixed breed "designer" dog to make more money off crossbreeding and creating mutts in a world already overun with them to the point that millions must be killed in shelters), I would not pay anything more than the cost of the spay/neuter and shots that the adoption ground had invested in it. More likely, I would find one for free so I could rescue it from getting killed on the street or taken to a shelter.

This. So-called "designer dog" breeders are the biggest scam going.. Oh well, that's capitalism. Something is worth whatever some (usually mis-informed) person is willing to pay for it..

Here's a picture of my best friend Dakota Jean, paid $400 and worth every penny

they could be getting rid of it for ton of reasons... finances, poor health of a family member - allergies and what not, job change and they no longer have time, moving, the dog was an impulse buy to begin with, kids being irresponsible

unfortunately its not always the case i would guess 90% are because of behavior problems with the dog, but then again that can fall back on no time to train it, kids teaching it bad habits, time is a big factor in almost all of behavior problems with dogs
