How quick is Metzer shipping to PA?

Hello,
I ordered 2 Buff ducklings from Metzer in California, I’m in Pennsylvania. Their website says I should have them Wednesday morning. But now my email says between Wednesday and Friday.
Anyone else on the east coast or from Metzer and when did they arrive?

Hi.

Metzer is right near the SF airport (relatively). So things should ship out quickly to you. It isn't in the hands of Metzer but USPS. I have had USPS be both fast and slow.

Metzer stock seemed strong. Even though I am in Ca, SF is where USPS pick up their shipments for a 7+ hours truck ride to me. There is NO such thing as express to my location even though I am right here is CA. I have read other threads with successful shipping to the east coast from Metzer. I would give them a try.

Once you get you tracking information, call your local post master and let them know you are expecting and ask for a phone call upon arrival. Even at 6:30 am when the shipping truck arrives, they are usually pretty good. I HAVE had USPS not update tracking. Sometimes it's laziness and they still arrive on time. Other times they have been lost. It really is a game of chance, but they do pretty good getting tons of packages to their destinations and hopefully yours will be no different!

I usually expect them the second day after they ship... or about 48 hours... that is my standard time from most hatcheries across the country.

I would find out where your local warehouse is located at. And be prepared to go there to pick them up if it’s delayed. I called my local post office and told them I would pick them up the minute they arrived. I’ve also went to the warehouse because they were late and would have died if I hadn’t. I’m not in PA. But honestly it depends on how close you are to major shipping centers.

Ok thanks for your responses, I’ll keep my fingers crossed they come on Wednesday. I did call the post office and they are aware that they are coming. So excited!!!

I ordered 2 ducklings as well from Metzer and my email from them stated that they only hatch and ship on mondays, so anyone who lives outside of California will receive them on Wednesday! I live in CT, mine are hatching/shipping the Monday April 30th and will be here Wednesday, May 2nd
