how to care for a wild duckling

I would not feed it chick starter, or layer mash. It’s not going to have enough niacin in it. I recommend ordering a duckling feed like the one Phantom mentioned which would be perfect for it. Or if you can’t find duck specific feed, purchase some flock raiser crumbles. They have that stuff everywhere!

Yes, if you’re going to keep this duckling, you need to take care of it properly. That means purchasing the right feed.

Hi I’m in Thunder Bay, there is a rehabber here ( Skyline Falconry) but I don’t know if she can do ducks...technically not supposed to keep him and you certainly can’t send it across the border! I’d keep him (shhh!)
yep every rehab facility is over 5 hrs away! i will and try to release it this fall

They are very difficult chicks to get to eat. Take the food and put it right in the water. When he drinks he will learn how to eat.

i dont see her drinking either... she doesnt touch the waterer but she dunks her head in the dog bowl when shes swimming in it. i figure she must gulp some up while bathing in the water?
