Running at this point would probably just take more weight off. From your posts I suspect you get a decent amount of exercise. Not that it would be a bad thing to increase it, but that is not necessarily what you need right now. Exercise increases muscle mass but also burns calories.... For me it decreases appetite. Different for everyone.
How many calories do you eat in a day? You might consider a food journal for a week or so. Might be illuminating.
Again, first step is the physical, and yes, it should include thyroid function, and yes, that means a needle. Sorry - get over it. It is not serious pain. The problem with needles is between your ears. I am a nurse. Guess who is most likely to pass out over a little blood or a needle? Males around 18-25!
Healthy foods? Assuming the checkup is normal: limit high fat food, like fried, and limit sweets. Does not mean never eat fried shrimp or brownies, just not every day. Try to include whole grains or other forms of fiber every day; gives your gut something to chew on besides itself. Veggies and fruit every day. Carbs are fine for you. I hate whole wheat bread but love white bread with oatmeal in it, and there's your fiber. I love dried limas, dried black beans, and such; again, there's your fiber. Most veggies have at least some fiber.
If you are vegetarian or vegan, this is much more complicated and requires research.
I would suggest a bunch of food research online. Maybe you will run across some recipes or foods that sound interesting. I'll bet you eat a small variety of foods....
I suspect your eating habits are the main thing to look at, even though you have not talked about them much. My mother weighed 105 her entire life. She ate because the clock said it was time to eat; I don't think she was ever hungry. I suspect you need to learn to poke something in 3 or 4 times a day (actually people do best eating 6 small meals a day!) It's OK if the meal is two crackers and a glass of milk or some cheese, or a carton of yogurt, or a piece of fruit. Soon enough, if you eat a little something often, you should find you want something to eat just a few hours later.
I understand forgetting to eat; I do it all the time, always have. But I have never wished I was heavier!
