How to get husband in gear to build coop

Unplug the internet and claim its a "maintenance outage". That's how I got my coop done!

I am more than capable of doing most of the projects I come up with by myself, but when I do want help my tried and true method is to plug in the circular saw, pull the trigger a bit and he comes running. He doesn't mind me using the other power tools--nail gun, sander, drill..., but when it come to the saw he is always there in the nick of time.

My husband works an extremely long work week, usually gone from early Monday morning until late Friday night and often spending a large chunk of his weekend working as well. I just came home from the feed store with some chicks one day. After a week he got busy because he didn't like the chicks in the house...lol We bought our coop from a local guy and we built the run together.

Offer to help him do the work, it always adds that little bit of extra encouragement

My ploy was to find several large coops which cost a small fortune (£1200plus....hopeless at conversion) and ask his opinion as to which was the best.....

Worked like a dream. I now have a lovely new coop made entirely by him and a regular reminder of 'how much money he saved'.
