How to lose 60-70 lbs in a hurry?

I am not on WW but have seen it work many times. It is definately the best "diet" program/lifestyle that is out there. It is not a scam and is much easier to do than other "diets". The way it works is you can have so many points a day, and each type of food you eat is categorized by a number of points. It helps keep portions small, and keeps you eating the right stuff. It also gives you a splurge day I believe. It's not really the stuff that we eat. It's usually how much we eat in one sitting that is the key to losing lbs.

What I did and it worked for me was the Southbeach diet. Yes diet is a fad word, but the 2 week phase I really gave me incentive because I lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks. I added GOOD carbs back and I found it easier after having done the no carbs for 2 weeks. I think the information is good in the book regarding glycemic indexes etc and I found it easy to read-not complicated. I feel good and have now lost 22 pounds. It slowed down after the first two weeks but it is going well. Started walking atleast 4 times a week too. I think it is important to do something you can follow or else you depress yourself and eat more (that's me). Good luck.

I lost 41 pounds by just watching my salt intake and dropping caffeine...sounds like it'd be a good start for you anyway Boyd. Cut my salt to 80% and was losing 3-5 pounds per week. I didn't change anything else, just those two things.

Agreed! I lost close to 100 lbs on South Beach but when I went off the "diet" I ended up gaining it all back. Just started on Mediterranean per doctor's request and it is liveable but the weight is coming off slowly. I could not imagine not being able to have a piece of bread or some noodles for the rest of my life... it is all moderation gosh darn it! Calories in vs calories expended.

I too believe that any "Diet" you go on is going to eventually come back to bite you in the butt! Since having my kids 10 years ago, I have had an awful time trying to lose weight and have tried everything from Weight Watchers to Atkins..NOTHING worked. Almost 2 months ago I started watching how many calories I take in (just estimating) and eating smaller more frequent meals throughout the day...IT WORKS! My hubby and I do not deprive ourselves (Pepperoni Pizza and Hotwings a weekly favorite!) Usually for pizza night we would eat 3-4 slices, now we have 2. Instead of 2 burgers, we have 1. If we have fast food, we get the burger but no fries or small fries. My husband has lost 25lbs and I have lost 12. We go to the gym everyday, he does muscle building workouts and I do about an hour of cardio. Let me tell you how nice it was to buy the next size down in pants yesterday! I lose 1-2lbs a week. Trust me if I can do it, you can do it! It is easy and we eat what we want, just in moderation. If you have any questions you can PM me and I can fill you in on specific details. I have never been able to lose weight so easily as I am now!

and having a stroke because my bp can't handle the added mass of my body.. If I just wanted to lose weight for no reason, slow and easy does it... but I am worried I don't have time for slow and easy.. I go to the doctors about this next week.

Boyd..I have a fast weight loss diet for heart patients... (still check with YOUR doc though!)
It does work... but its not a diet for me. I'll look for it if ya want me to?

ETA: Found the diet.. let me know if you want to try it... i cant do it..

Try this: put syrup of Ipecac in your cereal (not milk), and lick as many turtles as you can find, maybe a few frogs, too (Salmonella!) worked great for me in 2003.

Yep.. heard thats a good diet too...

My mom did it and lost around 20 or so lbs. She gained a little bit back because she didnt go off of phase 2 correct.

I'd also suggest looking into the HCG diet. I just lost 25lbs in 36 days. If nothing else, it's a start and gets you on the road to losing weight. I don't think it would be a good long term diet. I'd be afraid of getting flabby skin..etc...
The diet isn't much different than what you're eating now, but no carbs/sugar etc and there are only certain foods you can eat together. For example. A day would
consist of 2 fruits, 2 veggies, 2 protein...all day! You can have grissani bread sticks or melba toast as croutons. If you do it right and follow the plan you don't go back to your old eating habits, in fact some things you can't tolerate because
of the smell or grease content. I have been off it 3 weeks now, continued to lose a week after and now I'm steady up and down maybe one pound.

The one I did was healthyhcg.com if you decide to do it, contact me. I have a code to get 15% off your order....
