Ok, I am now 5 years into my orchard and after waiting that long to get a good crop, I was excited to say I was gonna get lucky this year. Well, right smack at the point when my fruit is about to be ripe, the squirrels rob me blind!

They have eaten all my peaches, apples, pears and plums!!!!!!!! They have now begun on my tomatoes (the green ones)!

So, I'm looking for suggestions on how to deal with them pesky varmints!

Suggestions????

I have seriously been thinking along the same lines. I live on a 1.5 acre lot in the MIDDLE of the city so probably can't shoot them but trap and kill would work... Wondering if they will be sweeter since they ate ALL my fruit!!!!!!!

Very mild tasting meat though can be tough as whip leather. Either par-boil until tender and then dredge in flour and fry or boil until the meat comes off the bones and make squirrel and dumplings or Brunswick stew.
