No, pretty sure that doesn't happen. The point I was trying to make was, if OP takes her babies, the hen is very likely not going to go back and sit on eggs right away. I think in her mind, that part of her job is done for the time being.That is my experience as well.
However I can not imagine a mama hen picking up her brood by the nape of the neck, like a she cat will and transporting the little fluff balls to an elevated nest.
