How to say no...

How about suggesting that in the spirit of Christmas, bring in farm animals from the local animal shelter for people to see and apply to adopt, they tend to have loads of roosters....

Why not have her get the other church goers have their kids dressed up as the animals?
Didn't the OP say her place is the only one with animals? as in farm animals?
I would not allow my animals, be they chickens, cows or other livestock off my property for something like that.

She wants it all to be real. Real animals, real people, etc. I don't think she'd settle for a toy chicken. Supposedly it's supposed to inspire awe and wonder... But I'm not sure how that's going to happen in the freezing cold.

Want's it to be real huh? And she wants cows?! Does this woman have any idea how much a cow pee's when it decides it has to "go"?! Or what a mess their poop's are? Yeah, I can see all this going over real well when all the animals start pooping and peeing and it turns out to be something that never entered her mind! One thing that will be real for sure is the nice barnyard aroma! Wonder how she's planning on keeping them all contained? Quite honestly, unless she has a lot of help from people experienced with all these animals I can see this possibly being a disaster, animals running amok, who knows.

But seriously, I really do not care for pushy people who don't hear me when I say no the first time. As suggested simply tell her that NO you do not loan out animals due to health and safety risks.

Tell her "yeah ok. I'll just have to pop in to the vet on the way there though. to pick up the Bird flu medicine that they are supposed to have" ................... "so what time did you want me to bring them?"

Actually if she wants it to be historically accurate there would be no chicken inside the city of Bethlehem or any other city in Israel. Poultry was considered an unclean animal according to levitical law and could not be kept inside the city limit. Little bit of a history lesson there. Still just say no.

There is a church that does that here ... but all they do is tie out a burro for the day of the event, then he goes home.

Too much risk for the chickens safety, with coons, cats and dogs running around in a town. Just say no, it's not safe for your chickens.
