How to Tell a Fertile vs INfertile Egg (Pictures)

I know Sussex are supposed to be broody but I have two Speckled Sussex and they have not been broody.

My most broody hens are a Buff Orpington and an Australorp. I like the Australorp the best as she will let me handle the chicks without taking my hand off. She just hatched 5 eggs plus I gave her 2 from the feed store and 6 that I hatched myself in an incubator (all were born within a week of each other) I simply added them as I got them and she didn't blink an eye.

Are these two fertile?? First time with a broody and also incubating, hoping the few extra eggs we used from our flock are also fertile :) Thanks!

That is my common method but I had a Science Teacher of my son's ask for some goose egg's this last year and he was mad that none of them were futile but that was checking them with a light and somehow I hatch out the same egg's and have for years and just figured he was an educated idiot but I was polite and just said to him oh did not know I could use a light to check for futility before I put them in the incubator .....
