I have raised my Rangers and I have two layers and one Rooster. I have been waiting on the eggs and now at 22 weeks I went in one day to find them. I was always told that a fertile egg had a red spot on them when cracked open. The eggs look normal, no spots. Is this an old wives tale? I have never seen the hens bonding with the rooster. Also is it hard to raise chicks in winter? I know about the lights etc but not sure for how long.
