I don't think it was the age. I hatched pullet eggs and got 10/11 hatch and thrive. I am banking on positioning and humidity control- opening the lid affects those that have pipped internally causing shrink wrapping from what I have read.i recently also read the ambient room temperature if too cool, causes drops in humidity- another no no.
