(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have been taking care of and loving chickens for about 6 years now. Was introduced by my fiance and I had NO idea I would love these little things so much.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
23 + ducks
(3) What breeds do you have?
Ameraucana, Dominique, Salmon Favorelles, Welsummer, Cuckoo Maran, Turken, Speckled Sussex, Green Queen, Buff Orpington, Delaware,
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy growing my own food/foraging(MUSHROOMS!) & medicine. Cooking with freshly grown ingredients. I like sharing things with the homesteading community on Instagram as well as being inspired by them. Hoping to find more of that here.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Cats are my FAVORITE animal. Jeopardy. (Micro)biology.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been using this website to successfully answer many of my chicken questions and curiosities, figured I might as well join!
