Hi.
I'm incubating chicken eggs for the first time at the moment but I don't understand anything about humidity. I have been putting 100ml of water in the incubator every two days but how can I find out the percentage humidity if my incubate doesn't do it?
Thanks
Oliver

You can buy hygrometers online or in a store in the same area as outdoor digital thermometers.

I had a little 56 egg bator i started off with no hygro .... kept it topped up from start to finish ... worked great ...had about a 70 % hatch rate ... didn't know any better at the time . Now i got a bigger bator i made ... and its all over the place !

Surface area is the biggest factor with humidity. The more water is exposed to the air the higher the humidity will be. In my incubator I can't fill even one of my wells up as it makes the humidity too high so I start out with a small container of water and fill the wells at lockdown.
