We have min 150 chickens who are about to gets smacked. 17 goats, 10 pigs & several turkeys whom will all be exposed.

Had no idea that you have that many. With your location in it's path, hope all of your animals survive. It should decrease in intensity some by the time it reaches northern Florida.

This am back down to a 4 as the islands in Cuba decreased it some, prediction is that it will strengthen again once back over just ocean. The Leeward Islands will be hit today by Jose. I feel so badly for the residences of the islands.

Anyone in Fort Myers and Tampa areas hold on to your hats, it's about to get serious . Best wishes for all! :hugs

I am on the NE Fl coast..hopefully we don't flood too much theres a river chanel behind our property. I am really concerned for all the Key West/Gypsy chickens that are on Key West that might be getting hit dead on..I hope they can find a safe place to hide.

I'm sorry, I know this is going to sound heartless, but I am not worried about the chickens in Key West at all. These are semi-feral birds that have been living by their wits all their lives. Though some deaths will probably occur due to the storm, free-ranging birds die in dozens of ways all the time, yet the flock lives on. It's called survival of the fittest - a rather brutal but effective means of keeping a gene pool strong.
