Glad to hear from you. Watching KHOU live cast and just praying for you, your city and your state.
So many without electricity have no way to know what is coming without your local police going into areas due to crest to warn them to get out.
Yes...this was horrible for me yesterday, to be without TV and Internet all day.
The not knowing is horrible.

I know it's scary, but ya'll will get through this. Houston will dry out and rebuild. Life will go on.

Two positives: it's not salt water and Houston doesn't look like this.

That's Galveston after a hurricane in 1900. Houston is what it is because after Galveston was destroyed, its role as the major Texas port and center of Gulf commerce shifted to Houston.

Do you know about the floating fire ant balls? Once the rain stops they will most likely be everywhere until the water is gone. They can be as large as a grapefruit. Definitely something to avoid. I was out canoeing once and they were everywhere. I made the mistake of slapping one with my paddle, and that of course sent water and ants flying everywhere, including me. Ouch!

In the flood of 98' the Guadalupe River at Seguin, Texas had basketball size fire ants going down the river. And once the water receeded, they were everywhere. Got bit so many times I had a sever reaction.

We are not worried about ants right now.
I wish that would be our only worry though.

We will soon be fishing in our living rooms. (hopefully not me but we really just don't know anymore....all the rivers will be cresting today and things are changing so fast)

Good morning Texans, glad all did okay last night, still praying for all of you and now me. LOL WWL radio said this am, in a poll of New Orleaneans 87% said they WOULD WELCOME Texans to the city. Wish I had a place for someone to stay.
I just got off of the phone with my aunt in Abbevile, LA...they are starting to get worried over there now too.
