 Remember that Hitchcock movie The Birds? This sounds just as scary - Mad Squirrel Disease?

Did they trap 3 crazy ones or just any three?
Don't go there, There are just too many squirrels in New Orleans!! The city thinks it may be due to people feeding them because they think squirrels are cute. But are trapping and testing to make sure. I think they just got three, don't think they know if they are any of the crazy ones or not.

Had to tell my daughter that if a squirrel comes after her she should stomp it into the ground and not touch it until someone from the city comes to pick it up. There are lots of squirrels at her school.
I had a problem with a squirrel years ago at the University of West Florida. People would get food from the vending machine and feed the squirrels, and this particular one knew to come over if people were there. Soon, if you didn't feed it, it would jump on you. One day, I went out to get a soda (thus, no treats for the squirrel) and over to me it hopped. I warned it by kicking my foot at it to stay away, but it jumped on me anyway. I grabbed it by the tail and slung it! It hit a tree and ran off. Later, the University trapped the squirrel because it was becoming a major problem and students were complaining about it. I don't know about them, but it never bothered me again.

I do think that feeding them may lead to this type of behavior (food aggression).

I should add that I do love animals and don't enjoy hurting one, but I also believe that a strong first impression needs to be made with inappropriate behavior so that it can quickly be corrected. I slung the squirrel away; hitting the tree was unintentional, but effective :).

Hey...squirrel thrower...don't worry...we don't judge.

We had a bat in our house about 2 weeks ago and that was certainly exciting. Not a rabid squirrel, but still hilarious. Husband and I were trying the Chris Farleys 'Black Sheep' method and couldn't get it to go out the open door so I grabbed an aquarium lid and cornered it. Then slid cardboard up behind it as it hissed and peed at me and I released it outside. The turkeys in the brooder thought it was terrifying and and the dogs were amused. Still don't know where or when it came in...
