Squirrel does taste pretty good. I was brave enough to try it once at a neighbor's BBQ. I'd definitely eat it again.

I had to laugh at the squirrel cop story. That was pretty funny!

All this talk reminded me that when my mom was little, she, her sisters, and her brother had a pet squirrel. I think his name was Timmy (tiny Tim). I forget how they found him but they raised him from a baby.

I resemble that remark.

Squirrel gumbo is good as is squirrel sauce picante.

Funny story. Working in a lab and the manager (Fontenot) brought a delicacy for lunch. Squirrel head gumbo. Most of the rednecks didn't mind, but the young college girl, who wasn't normally squeamish, threatened to report him to HR for a hostile work environment if he didn't leave the lunch room and never bring that dish again. I heard about this years later and she was still upset by that story. Needless to say, the good ol' boys loved telling the story in front of her. And Mr. Fontenot didn't bring any more for lunch.

I can now say I've seen 2 squirrels fall out of a tree. The first one hit the dog who was napping under it and it scared poor old Otis. Knocked the squirrel senseless for 15 seconds. By the time Otis went back to find out what hit him, the squirrel snapped out of it and ran back up the tree. I was rolling! Poor Otis. It made my sides hurt.

How do you catch a squirrel?

Climb a tree and act like a nut.
That is too funny, had to wait until I stopped laughing to read it to DH, who couldn't stop laughing either

No, this is a real problem. I know it sounds like a stupid joke, but it's real! Check out WWLTV.com some good video on the squirrel atttacks!

I apologize. I did not mean to upset you. Yes, animal attacks are serious especially when someone gets hurt. Animal included. My sense of humor is not appreciated all the time, but I try.

Watched a show that showed birds attacking pedestrians walking too close to the nest. Animal may just be defending a nest. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved soon.

Oh, please I have the same off sense of humor, have to as an RN, I thought your post was funny. I did get attacked by a Mississippi Kite once, but it was totally my fault. I tried to get too close to the nest that held chicks, and was dive bombed. LOL

It looks good if you don't know it's got rum in in :D:sick
oh dear, what did they have to do to get him out?

The upstairs furnace was installed in between a wall and an old chimney with maybe 2 - 2 1/2 inches each side -- can't get more than my finger tips in a few inches from the side. I have not had a chance to do any work on the house upstairs yet (except the bathroom), but plan to box the furnace in eventually. The cat must have been climbing on top and fell in there somehow cuz she isn't skinny.

I tried pushing her up with a broom handle, then tried fishing a skinny belt over her head. Finally got belt on her head and tried to pull her out and ended up choking her. I felt bad - luckily belt was stiff and I was able to push it and loosen it on her neck.

She was screaming and I was in a major panic. Tried to push the furnace with my feet and it didn't budge. Opened it and nothing removable on the sides. I phoned the A/C installers and told them it was an emergency come quick. He showed up pretty quickly, but I was worried she was losing the fight. He had to cut several PVC pipes going to the unit and still was only able to move it about 1/2 inch while I pushed her up with the broom. Then I had him old the broom and I was able to grab the scruff of her neck.

Is the cat okay?

She is fine and was sure happy to get out. She ran to the hall and sat there with my dog. Lol It's a good thing they are somewhat flexible. I am keeping the door to that room closed for now. And she is looking for a good new home.

Apparently, not many people mess with nurses. Too serious a business. Having said that, I've had a few rolling.

Had an inner ear infection turn BAD! When the redhead nurse asked the problem, I replied, I'm dizzy all the time. I think I'm turning blonde. How do you stop it? ;)

The bottle blonde from the front desk walked back and wanted to know what I had against being blonde. I told her the dizziness and asked her how she handled it. She left laughing, too. Only time I had the receptionist come back to the exam room.

Even the doctor walked in laughing. "So, you're turning blonde?"

I love watching the Mississippi Kites! During migration time, I counted 8 in the skies. I hope they were looking for squirrels because the chickens were under the coop. They were talking back a forth for almost half an hour before the group drifted off. Very pretty. They were obviously hunting. Not like the geese going in a straight line to the marsh.

I would have taken a picture of her stuck down there, but I was in too much panic.
