Folks, I know I've told this story in other threads, so please forgive me if its redundant. I am so new to this, I don't even know how to operate a tractor... My tractor guy is shocked that I've been able to turn my place into a "chicken farm"... More specifically, a city guy turned farmer. He's likely early 30's... After I harvested 820+ pounds of cx birds, I gave him a couple of whole birds. Ok, this is a country guy who can read the pastures, read the land and know what to do... The look on his face was total bewilderment... He looks back up at me and asks: "What do I do with them?" When I told him he could cut them up and grill them or fry them, or roast them whole or smoke them, his response was: "Ok, I'll smoke them." He had no earthly Idea how to break down a chicken. I learned how to cut-up a chicken when I was 7 years old. Because back then, there weren't cut-up chickens in the case.
