@penny1960 I approve of self policing townships. Lowers costs but people are generally more behaved since everyone know they are the ones responsible for public decorum. Hurts the donut shop financially though. Do other town's officers come to your donut shop?

@Auroradream26 I've heard good things about Prius. Toyotas have a very good reputation with mechanics still. With the Japanese culture taking hits on several fronts (today was Nissan), they need to get back to quality and maintain the brand. Have you ever run out of juice? What do you do when you stop? Tow truck? Borrow a gallon of battery? I'm the type that will look down and say, "oh wow, time to get gas."

@adrikeen Another good one is "Buc ee's you gotta Pee it to believe it." I should have mentioned that their brand is clean bathrooms. And they are phenomenal. An oasis. Unfortunately, during holidays the lines are also phenomenal. They have fresh made to order tacos and burgers. Pretty good too!

Crazy Lady has decided they make wonderful fudge. Did I mention we have one local?

Have a wonderful day!

Yep. If you took a full load, 21 semester hours, or more, you paid 1 price. I'd have to get department head permission to take over 21 hours. If I was struggling the first 3 weeks, one would go. I'd push the limits. Organic was one that pushed back and required for graduation. Took Country-Western Dancing and never got a date. Learned how to drink domestic "beer". I prefer Konig Ludwig Dunkel von Bavaria! Guinness works, too. Tap preferred.

Our department head wanted us to sign up at the college 2 hours away and take it there. The departments didn't like each other. Heh heh. I took it and passed because I did not want to drive 4 hours with my class mates. On the first attempt for both semesters with labs, I might add. Labs took a lot of time in class and writing up.

Got within sight of a biology double major. Unfortunately, I fell in love and didn't have time for all that silliness. I mean, fortunately. Saved me from a different life. Cell Biology along with other senior level classes are time consumers. Dropped that one. The pre-med study buddies were upset when they found out I bailed. Good times...

Glad I lived through it. Where has the time gone?
No kidding! Yesterday, I was in college. Today, I'm 55! I just blinked and there it was.... I've heard horror stories about organic chemistry :).

We have a blended family. I'm bonus mom to his two girls (they coined the term). Hubby's ex remarried so Her husband became the girls' bonus dad. Hubby is bonus dad for my daughter. Our three girls are very close. We always put the children best interest before the ex spouses....over the years this has built trust and friendships.

GREAT POST and so true. My husband and I each had two children coming into the marriage, and they were all girls from 12 to 7 years of age. They were like sisters and acted like it. Loved each other and fought with each other, but buddy, you had better not be an outsider and think you were going to bully one of them. You had the other 3 at your throat if you did.

Don't bash your ex to the kids. They have a right to love their other parent, even if you don't want to be married to them anymore. In fact, my husband's ex would take my two along if she was doing something with her girls. My ex would do the same.

A drop slip is for when you want to drop a class because you are failing it and don't want it to affect your GPA.

I never did it, but my kids are familiar with the concept. If I did it, I had to pay for the next time I took the class instead of my Mom and Dad paying for it.

When I worked on my Master's I for sure never did it because I paid for those classes myself! :)
ahhh, i didnt go to college

Yes Texas state troopers drive Dodge interceptors and Chevy Yukons. The Sheriffs have ford somethings. Houston city police have the same ford somethings.

Times must be getting tough if the police are down sizing. Bicycles are next!

What model of guns do yours carry? I see a lot of glops. A few 1911s. Not many Sigs any more.
lol, glops

prius are getting better the problem when they first came out was the batteries and electrical systems- EMTs and first responders literally COULD NOT use the jaws of life on them because theyd get fried
and the batteries when they go are SUPER expensive and there are like 8 of them

Good! College is over rated, but everyone thinks it is required. I've got hourly guys doing better than me. Good for them.

The emergency services will get with the program and figure it out. Kill switches on the cars or insulated tools.

So, if I drive a Prius into a lake (flooded street in Houston), will I die by drowning or electrocution?
Are the windows manual or electric?
Are the batteries vented to outside?

The new Porche mom-mobiles have the battery under the ?passenger? seat. It shorted and off gassed H2S killing mom and kid :(. There is a reason the batteries are vented. Even the no maintenance kind can off gas. H2S is deadly and quick. Priuses have a lot of battery. I can see new cars coming out with smoke, H2S, radon and pollution detectors by government mandate. Just vent the batteries outside. QED.

i wanted to go to college, i wanted to be a doctor
ems did training on them, i dont *think* its a problem anymore
no idea
a lot of the newer cars have the batteries under the back seats, really weird when they need a jump

did you know some new cars dont have an oil dipstick? you have to rely on the cars computer to tell you if you have enough oil :hmm

What a great idea, you get two pats on the back! Daughter and I used to read together (I would read 1 page, she would read the next) at bed time. not to brag but we are still getting all A's in honors classes in a private high school. I think what you are doing makes all the difference in the world, when it comes to learning. Have fun!
I will brag.
The Mini just got his report card yesterday.
They don't grade with the regular letter grades here. They use numbers. I, 2 and 3.
Three being above level. 2 on level and 1 below level.
All 3s and he is on a fourth grade reading level. (He is just in 2nd grade.)

I will stop reading mid page and make him pick up where I left off to make sure he is following along wth me. He hates it.

No dipsticks? You mean automated or driverless?

Yes, I figured they did. Lots of smart people there.

What kind of doctor? Never too late! I'm gonna be a lumberjack! Or Park Ranger.

We have drones that are totally automated. We have trains that should be. Airplanes are not different. Robots can do 99% of the tasks. It's that other 1% that is a deal breaker.

Flying is hours of uninterrupted boredom interspersed with moments of stark raving terror.
There are old pilots and bold pilots. But no old, bold pilots.

You see, Darwin called this survival of the fittest. Biologists call it natural selection. We are protecting the weak links and teaching to the lowest denominator.

There is a fine line between a denominator and a numerator. Don't be a denominator.
