WOW!Our last cat passed a few months ago.
Wild feral cat raids the barn and runs to the hay bales with its catch. Haven't been able to even get close to it. It won't eat cat food...even fishy stuff...so may not be able to befriend it.
Neighbor has four 3 month old kitties. May take the tuxedo one.
When we lived in the city, we picked up a lot of nice pumpkins from neighbors who used them for decoration. They were going to just throw them away...not even scratched! I offered to give them a jar of canned pumpkin, but they just let us have them. Some of them were huge! One weighed 43 pounds!
Then two years ago, a local church called us to see if we could use their left over pumpkins from their pumpkin sale project for our cows. We hauled three 16 foot trailers full home...all different varieties. We canned 50 quarts of pumpkin, fed the cows and chickens chunked pumpkin for three months and even had some come up volunteer in the pasture the next spring.
WOW!
I'm not too familiar with cooking with pumpkin..besides pies.
I wonder what else I could make??
I think Nutball is a fan of pumpkin soup...I've never had it.I found a recipe for pumpkin soup once. It actually turned out pretty good! I never saved it though. I'm going to have to search for it again I think.
Cookies, cake, bread, muffins, roasted, mashed, soup both hot and chilled, and of course PIE!WOW!

I think those were called mimiograph (Spelling?) machines, smelled like you could get loaded on the ink smell!I'm still back on #748....but had to interject.
I know what a photocopy is!!! The original ones were blue ink and the paper smelled like glue afterwards. Hell...I remember over head projectors and those plastic sheet things, movies came in tins and had to be hand wound. I only look young.![]()
I would think you could file an insurance claim with the company that did the tree removal/cutting for damage to your property. Aren't they suppost to repair any damage done to private property?So...came home tonight and had total meltdown when I went out to tuck the girls in for the night and bring Rupert in (well...he brings himself in now...Rooster dog). State has been cutting down trees in the back woods area....I think due to power lines back there....not sure. The cutting was way off in the distance. WELL...came home tonight and they cut down all the tress in the back of our property and felled (if that's a word) them into our yard!!! We aren't even by the power lines!!! My birch tree is gone, several other trees are gone. Luckily they didn't touch my hollies (Delaware state tree!). We have a small pond/depression on our property that is now completely covered in fallen trees. I have a large stone Chinese lantern sculpture out there that needs to be rescued. I am NOT happy!!!
Thank you for letting me vent....hubby ran out to go eat with friends....I think he knew an explosion was coming....
Pumpkin bread (could add walnuts) or muffins. Use like you would a veggie like a carrot souffle, only pumpkin or sweet potatoes, only pumpkin.WOW!
