All I have to say is that I'm terrified and the hubby is excited - he's a firefighter and will get to cut up some trees.

We have a dewalt 6000watt gen that I wheel out from the basement and plug into an outlet my electrician hooked up for us when we built our house.Then inside we have a panel with breakers on it that
we turn on. We have all the necessities hooked up so they will work with generator power. For some reason we lose power a lot so we invested in a generator.

Well, maybe not all of them. My husband does landscape maintenance. If Earl even gives us a brush-by, hubby's gonna be picking up mess for weeks! In between the "I-hope-I-don't-really-need-to-do-this" preparations, he's checking on updates and grumbling. I'm just glad he took a chainsaw to the dead trees in the pasture a couple of weeks ago; if they are already down, they can't fall on the fence.

Also, a cheap kiddie pool makes a pretty decent bathtub. Pump some water in it and let it sit in the sun, strip down and take a quick bath.

I am 10-15 miles from Va beach this ought to prove interesting I have lived through a coupla nasty ones in NC and in VA I have canoes boats several outboards and lotsa rope I hope I don,t need them we could use the rain I just hate tying everything down I heard late thursday night for us maybe early friday morning I am kina at the chesapeake va moyock nc line too.
