The skies were threatening all day, now we have rain.........and of course the potential threat hovering nearby....

Should I bring in my chickens?????? I'd hate to see my coop with the girls in it take off and land on some witch somewhere!

Seriously, I'm starting to get a little worried with the phone calls, (are you all prepared?) BUT 85 to 100 mph winds???? Maybe I'm not......

How many birds are you talking about?? Surely if you had a few, you can bring them in. BUT if you're talking about 30 or 50 fowl, that might be hard to do. I have seven hens....and one isn't doing very well

I think the best we can do is just keep up with the news and be prepared, then if you need to do something drastic ( like take your chickens indoors

) then that's what we'll do!

Here's where I am putting most of mine. In the horse barn with the horses. Then I am going to shut those big doors behind them.

This is what it was like in Nassau this morning. Keep in mind they eye passed to the east of Nassau, so they were on the lighter side of the storm.

Praying here...Husband is a firefighter/paramedic at Camp Lejeune. He leaves for his 24hr shift tomorrow. He gets off duty at 8am Saturday. I don't think he'll be able to make it home!!! That would mean he would be at work until Sunday, or Wednesday. Depending on when the other guys can make it in to work. So far it looks like it's heading straight for Lejeune. I'm a bit worried about having to weather the storm without him(ha! a funny!) But we'll see how it goes.

We've picked up stuff in the yard and battened down the hatches. We'll see if this 92 yr old house can make it! The chickens are being locked in tomorrow. The rabbits are safe on the porch for now, but might be moved to the other side of the house if it gets bad(to the enclosed laundry porch).

I might even let in the annoying alley cat that sprays everywhere...oh who am I kidding, he will be let in!!!!
