100% of New Orleans proper is out of electricity. A massive electrical tower supplying 8 main feed lines collapsed into the Mississippi River and the lines. We're still out as well no idea when it'll be back

Just got an update with pics. Tower is blown over on land not in the river

Our news is claiming the towers (some number of them) were reinforced after Katrina - looks like they forgot to reinforce the bolts holding them down...

Honestly, that's not an uncommon mistake.

We just managed to get the last generator in the Baton Rouge Costco, thank God. LA folks, I heard that the Home Depot on Airline had generators still.

I think my chickens want to evolve into ducks...kind of like Pokemon, only with tropical disturbance water...

I have power, no more off and on again (my generator was getting whiplash and I was late for work because the time lag between power out and generator start is just enough to blank out all the clocks in the house.)
