That is an interesting fact. I had a silkie hen hatched and raised two Ring-necked pheasants. They grew up with the Silkie temperament/behavior. It was all heaven until I caught the male pheasant trying to mate with the hens. So I moved him to a separate pen with a female pheasant companion. He had no interest in her...the Silkie hens was all he ever wanted. After a month of watching him stare at the silkie coop day and night, I gave it to a friend of mine...two days later he escaped.No chicken/pheasant hybrids are quite rare.
