Uh oh! If you're already obsessed with chickens and you don't even have any yet, you are in big trouble! Forget building a coop, better get started on a chicken mansion... of course, you could aways settle for one of those yards that has like 5 or 10 separate coops so all your birds have a place to sleep.

Getting new chicks is so exciting! I may be getting a few more this spring, too. I don't NEED them, but I just WANT them. I'd love to help enable your passion, so I will direct you to some of my favorite articles that will hopefully get you started in the right direction:

Do you allow members who post without any poultry puns? From my quick look around, it seems to be a requirement! :jumpy

Hi - I’m Anne in Vermont. I live on a beautiful, mostly wooded hillside with my beloved, who owns many vehicles including 1947 Ford 8N tractor. If there are tractor nerds among you, I understand that you’re jealous.

I’m at the age where I’m slowing down, working part time, gardening more. I took it into my head that I wanted to get chickens, and became completely obsessed, apparently overnight. Many of my coworkers are chicken people, so perhaps that’s how I caught this bug. I see I found a place where I’m in good company!

I hope to start with chicks this spring. I can’t wait!
Hi Anne nice to meet you and it's great you joined the site. I have a collection of old tractors. I have a fordson dexta, fordson standard n, 2 grey fergies and a massey 35x. I like the ford 8n but they are as rare as hens teeth in UK! No pun intended! :lau
