* I am a sad, sorry idiot. (Just in case you didn't already know it.)

Whenever we lock ourselves out, my DD who is tall and lanky, gets the unfortunate job of crawling throught the tiny window in the bathroom. Just give her a boost, and "bang", open door!

Poor thing................

It happens to the best of us. I once locked myself and everyone else out of our truck. Our friend who is a member of the fire department had to pick the lock, and now we have to lock it manually

I was rescueing a small child out in the middle of the street and slamed my door and it locked on me with my ignition running. I had to call my DH from work over an hr. away to unlock my car door. We got some spare keys made the next day.

Change the door locks to deadbolt-only. I'm serious.

I used to lock myself out routinely, because I am a dumb bunny. No, because I enjoyed the challenge of waggling the credit card just so in the doorjamb. New house, we had to change the locks anyway, so we got the kind that only have deadbolts but no other locking mechanism.

Now if I could only remember to lock all the doors before I leave the house...

I locked my daughter in the car once and the MP's got her out while she got through all the chips,
locked myself out the car a millioon times, broke into my house a few times, now i leave keys in a very safe place outside
and i got real good at opening cars with a clothes hanger.

Mine was to warm my fathers car up for winter, it has automatic locks and when you start it it does it's thing. Could be worse, my little sister had his car once while she was in college 2 and a half hours away and she accidentally flushed the keys in a public restroom. Guess no matter how bad you can feel about it others can have great stories that are past of the same type of thing where situations got worse. LOL

Been there, done that, have the T-shirt, wore it out!

Locked myself out of my van 6 times in a two month period (I blame the fact that we had had a house fire and I was under a lot of stress - that's my story and I'm sticking to it). Locked myself out of one of our houses and tried to crawl in through the dog door. Stupid dog wouldn't let me in - he just stood there licking me everytime I tried to come in (he's about 120 lbs, so not that easy to push out of the way). Locked myself out another time, crawled through the bathroom window and broke the toilet seat! Locked the keys in the car when I got out to open the gate into our property, blocking the gate. Of course, everyone had to come along at that time - my whole family lives on the property, so of course everyone needed to leave or come home then - my SIL, my brother, my mom, the propane guy. So you see, dk, it's no big deal. I'm still waiting for my membership card from PurpleChicken, too!

Locked my keys and purse in my van. Had to call DH at work (half hour away) to come and let me in.

Before that I had my Dad's van and the ignition was on the dash board instead of the steering column. Well, it got left in. Luckily that time I discovered it on break and Mom was still at work a block away! I called her and asked her to unlock it before she went home. Luckily, she got off work before me!
