I am a total newby to chickens

Cold and dry is better than slightly warmer and moist. As long as your roosts are low and out of the air circulation your birds will be fine.

We are in growing zone 3b here. -30+ nights happen in the winter.

In addition to what others have said...
That is made of chipboard and will soak up the moisture..be sure to coat it with paint on the inside...lots of people use blackjack 50 on the floor and a foot or so up the sides

We want to have a secure run and let them out for a few hours late afternoon to hopefully help with bugs and horse manure scattering. I try to keep my pastures fairly clean but sometimes get behind. We were thinking hardware cloth for the run with a shaded area on the north side of the coop.

umm The pop door is at ground level and the bedding will get kicked out... I usually have 4-12" of bedding.. also they have to walk under the roosts to get to the nest boxes...poopy feet =poopy eggs

If Have them raise it 6 inches would that be good or maybe put something on the floor in front of the doors to hold the bedding in?

You don't have to use a pop door. Barn style doors will work too. I have barn style and a threshold type divider of 2x4's on the floor, between the coop and run, stuff in the coop stays there. Same with the run.

either would work.. if something is in front, the door would need to be taller too
