I can't get a scary movie out of my mind

I am the WORST person to watch scary movies with! I got scared at the New Moon and the prequel to that one, lol.

But really, ive watched those dinosaurs so many times, I think dinosaurs are real and turkeys are the key to them :hmm

I enjoy a good ghost story ("The Others" for instance... really good film!), but I find most of the ones which feature senseless violence disturbing. I don't understand the attraction. I've seen only a few that I thought were good. "Silence of the Lambs" and "Hannibal", for example. The few others I saw when I was young. I remember being home alone after seeing a scary movie, and going around the house, room to room with a baseball bat, to make sure the house was all clear. Even the basement! It was a scary task, but it was worse thinking that someone could be down there.

Some of the previews for the ones nowadays look completely messed up. I really wonder about the mindset of the folks thinking some of this stuff up. I also wonder about how some weirdos look on it as resource guides for fun.

Welcome to my world that M. Night Shylamalan's THE HAPPENING freaked me out not scary just different.

The Happening FREAKED me out too, when that crazy lady broke the glass with her face and there was blood EVERYWHERE....I became scarred for life with that image in my head.

Once upon a time I loved horror flicks and books. Then I got married and had children and learned what it was to have chunks of your heart running around in the world at risk from loonies - horror movies don't amuse me anymore......

I have WHAT in my yard? :

Same here. Used to enjoy the stuff. Now I'm just too paranoid to enjoy it.

After my introduction to violence at the age of 14, I don't watch violent movies, I know how it will affect me. I don't know why or understand why, anyone would want to watch a movie in which in humans and animals are abused, violated, killed, etc. I don't know or understand why directors and movie makers go to the lengths they do to create these ugly, ugly movies. I don't know or understand why people go to the theaters and pay a lot of money to sit through them and call it entertainment.

When I was very young I saw the opening credits to Rosemary's Baby and I still have nightmares about that baby buggy coming over the hill, I think I was about 5!

Geez, 5? I never did like violent or gory movies, just the creepy "clean" ones. Even those, I don't enjoy so much anymore.

I'm trying to decide if I want to risk watching Shutter Island or not. I think I would find the concept interesting, but I don't know if I can handle it.

My best friend said that Shutter Island was HORRIBLE, she even fell asleep while at the theatre and she said the man behind them did also! BUT I have heard that some people have really liked it! She did say the last few moments and the previews were the best parts of the entire movie! I will wait til its on dvd to see it lol
